S\u00f6derfors Church is more than a place of worship \u2013 it’s one of the village’s central gathering spaces. Here the people of S\u00f6derfors come together for concerts, events, celebrations and community, and the church is one of the driving forces behind S\u00f6derforsdagen. This is where we collect what’s happening.<\/p>\n\n

History<\/h2>

S\u00f6derfors kyrka was built 1789\u20131792 from designs by architect Erik Palmstedt and is counted among Sweden’s first churches in neoclassical style. It replaced an older cruciform church that burned down in 1789. The church is a fine example of late Gustavian church architecture and well worth a visit.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
