Cookies

Söderfors.se uses no cookies during a normal visit, and we have no tools for visitor tracking, analytics or ad tracking. That’s why there’s no cookie banner. If you log in as an editor, WordPress sets technical cookies required for login.

What data do we process?

Logs and security. The web server and the Wordfence security plugin log IP address, time and browser type to run the site and protect it against attacks and misuse.

Content that may contain personal data. We publish places and events in the community. Sometimes names appear — for example a musician, a speaker or a business owner whose sole proprietorship bears their name. The information comes from already public sources and is published to inform about what’s happening in Söderfors.

Email. If you contact us, we process your email address and what you write so we can reply to you.

Where the data comes from

  • Google Places — information about businesses and places: address, opening hours, phone, ratings
  • Svenska kyrkan, Tierp-Söderfors parish — events
  • Söderfors Herrgård — events
  • Söderfors Hembygdsförening
  • Söderfors associations’ websites
  • Police open API, polisen.se — incidents, already de-identified by the Police
  • Information you provide when you contact us

Legal basis

Processing is based on legitimate interest (Article 6.1 f of the GDPR): to operate a functioning and secure website, and to inform about what’s happening in the community. We process no sensitive personal data and make no automated decisions about individuals.

Who has access to the data?

We never sell personal data. To make the site work, we use a small number of processors who handle data on our behalf:

  • Amazon Web Services — hosting and storage of the website. Servers are located in Stockholm (AWS region eu-north-1), within Sweden and the EU/EEA.
  • Wordfence — security filtering
  • Anthropic — we use an AI language model to write short descriptive texts based on already public material. This means such text, which may occasionally contain a name, is processed by Anthropic in the USA. The transfer is based on the EU Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

How long is data kept?

Security and server logs are kept for a maximum of 12 months and then automatically deleted. Published content remains as long as it is current; outdated events and places are automatically unpublished. Backups rotate and are overwritten continuously. Email is kept as long as the matter requires it.

Your rights

You have the right to know what data we hold about you (a data extract), to have incorrect data corrected, and in certain cases to have data deleted or processing restricted. You also have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest.

Don’t want to appear on soderfors.se? Contact robert@aakerman.net and we’ll remove the information. You don’t need to explain why. We do hope you see the benefit in being visible and getting traffic to your place, business, association or organisation.
