Fjällnora Nature Reserve sits just north of Uppsala and is one of the area’s most popular spots for swimming, picnicking and relaxing by the water. You’ll find a proper beach with jetties, a diving platform on a raft, and plenty of space to spread a blanket and settle in — all without driving far from town.
What makes Fjällnora special?
The reserve works for both quick visits and longer stays. In summer you can swim from the jetties or jump off the raft, rent a canoe or pedalo, or simply lie in the sun with a book. There’s a wood shed near the beach — perfect if you want to grill your picnic. Many visitors bring a charcuterie board, light a bonfire and watch the sunset over the water.
