Furuviksparken — amusement park, animal park and water play all in one

Furuviksparken

A classic family destination along Dalälven

Furuviksparken is located in Furuvik, about 25 km north of Söderfors, and is one of the region’s most established amusement park destinations. It’s a place where you can spend a whole day with rides, animal encounters and water play — all in one spot.

What can you do here?

The park combines classic carousel fun with an actual animal park. You’ll find both modern rides for children and teenagers, a water park where you can cool off on warm days, and an animal area where you can meet alpacas, goats and other enclosed animals. This makes Furuvik especially good for families with children of different ages — there’s something for most people.

The park is also worth visiting just to wander around and enjoy the setting along Dalälven. There’s plenty of green space and a pleasant atmosphere, even if you’re not particularly keen on queuing for attractions.

Who is it for?

  • Families with children aged 5 and up — many of the rides require a certain height or maturity level
  • Animal lovers — the animal park is charming and doesn’t have the same high-volume feel as larger amusement parks
  • Swimmers — the water park is popular when the weather cooperates

Practical notes from visitors

The rating sits at 4.2 out of 5, and most people appreciate the setting and the chance to do several things in one visit. Some have noted that food and drink prices are steep — expect around 50 kronor for a drink — so it pays to bring your own snacks if you want to save money. It opens at 10:00 on weekdays and closes at 19:00, but stays open later on Fridays and Saturdays (until 22:00).
