ICA Supermarket Väst in Flogsta – the students’ favourite
A short drive from Söderfors into Uppsala brings you to ICA Supermarket Väst in Flogsta Centrum. This store has earned itself a kind of affectionate nickname among Uppsala students: “ICA best” — and not without reason.
What makes ICA Väst special is partly the range, which is well-tailored to student budgets, and partly the often genuinely aggressive special offers. People talk about it as one of the cheapest ICA stores in the city, and you notice it when you walk around and find incredible savings everywhere. The selection is good and well-stocked, so you get both breadth and depth — whether you’re after everyday groceries or something a bit more unusual.
A small bonus: the store opens at 06:00 every day (including Sundays!), so if you’re an early riser or need something late in the evening (it closes at 23:45), you’re sorted. The only minor downside mentioned by some visitors is the lack of express checkouts, but queues tend to move fairly quickly anyway.
